Chateau La Bouscade

After many years as a consulting winemaker, David Cowderoy finally bought a plot of land deep in the heart of the Minervois region of France. Here, he is crafting wines of unusual elegance and finesse, wines that stand out and assert their own character and individuality. With a deft touch of oak, these bottles are lovely expressions of both their terroirs and their winemaker’s skills.
David is crafting some beautiful, well-balanced, medium-to-big bodied reds from Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache and old-vine Carignan. We think this is an up and coming winery, one to keep your eyes on.
La Bouscade’s Les Septs Vents is a beautiful rendition of Syrah, a surprisingly elegant and fresh wine redolent of black cherries, pepper, black currant and blueberries, with a hint of oak to add some stuffing and give it some nice body.
The Mourvèdre/Syrah AOC Minervois is a deliciously fresh blend, with the Mourvèdre’s cherries and earthy aspects backed up and strengthened with the Syrah’s pepperiness and body. Medium-bodied, with a long finish, this is a great steak wine.
